Beneficial and helpful for me

The realization that I had put myself in this position, not just by choosing my former spouse, but by also with-holding in the moments that could have lead to better communication/understanding with my former spouse. Also learning the distinction between what I perceived as ‘facts’ and what was my interpretation of what had happened – This course did a wonderful job of explaining the responsibility we all carry for our decisions and how they affect the outcomes in situations in our lives, it is not blame, but a realization of responsibility for ourselves as beings.

i found this course very helpful in pointing out things i would not have looked at or thought about by myself i now feel i have more tools i can use to assist me going forward

This course has made me look at the hard truths about my marriage, how I contributed to the breakdown and what we need to do together to reach the point of restructured family unit. Before this course, I had not thought about the end goal of having a functional restructured family unit. I now feel like I have a starting point and adequate resources to begin rebuilding. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the Children’s Bill of Rights. I will be sharing this with my children and looking of more opportunities to allow their voices to be heard.

Your kids will be hurt. You need to own your mistakes that lead to the divorce so that they don’t get the best of you and lead to continued hurt for the children.

I really learned a lot from this course and have actually relayed some of the information to friends who are struggling now as well. I learned that I am responsible for part of the separation. That we both made decisions that effected our relationship, not just him. I also learned that I need to accept him for who he is. I don’t have to agree, but I do have to accept.

It’s so helpful to hear these practices put into real life scenarios.
